My pantry is stocked with lots of great ingredients that I use on a regular basis. Probably more than I need at times! But I know that not everyone has the time or desire to bake every day, so I have whittled the big shelves down what I feel are real necessities for a basic, Busy-Life Pantry. All 11 of them. I have not included salt and pepper. Those are a given. 🙂 So, without more rambling, here is my version of…
THE BUSY LIFE PANTRY.
1.Olive Oil. Some sort of fat is necessary in almost every recipe, and this one can be used in both baking and cooking.
2.Balsamic Vinegar. It is fantastic in dressings, sauces, reductions, etc.
3. All Purpose Flour. (If you are gluten-free, this one would be cornmeal or gluten-free flour.)
4. Honey or Sugar. Obviously.
5. Garlic or Garlic Powder.
8. Chocolate or chocolate chips.
And, a drumroll for number 11……….
Here are a few recipes you can use these ingredients to make. I have added a few ingredients that you might have to run to the store for, but the main ingredients you will already have:
Soft Flour Tortillas (Use for tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, etc.)
Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette (Just add soy sauce.)
Sweet Potato Soup (Just add sweet potatoes.)
French Bread (Just add yeast.)
Pizza (Just add yeast and cheese.)
Spaghetti with Red Sauce (Just add tomatoes, and meat if you want it.)
